Causes of Breast Cancer

This dangerous disease is caused by various causes, either directly or indirectly. Breast cancer is caused due to abnormal growth of cells in the breast. This abnormal growth is thought to be caused by genetically inherited gene mutations. Some mutated genes that are then passed down that would increase the likelihood of this condition have been identified. The most well-known of these genes are breast cancer gene 1 (BRCA1) and also breast cancer gene 2 (BRCA2), both of which significantly increase the risk of this disease and the ovaries.

Breast Cancer Risk Factors

In addition, several risk factors are thought to trigger the condition of breast cancer cells to spread, namely:

·       Increasing age is most common in women over the age of 50 years.

·       Never been pregnant. 

·       Starting to experience menopause at an older age, ie after the age of 55 years.

·       Using hormonal contraceptives and hormone therapy after menopause.

·       Have a history of breast cancer yourself in one breast.

·       Have a history of breast cancer in the family such as grandmother, mother, aunt, sister, brother, or biological child.

·       The number of the female gender is much higher than male.

·       Have been exposed to radiation.

·       Have bad habits, such as smoking or drinking alcoholic beverages.

·       Being overweight or obese.

·       Have dense breasts with more connective tissue.

·       Start menstruating before 12 years of age.
